General Overview:
Mid‑Maine Technical Center’s Business, Marketing & Entrepreneurship program is a comprehensive, project‑based class designed to prepare high school students for success in business and the workforce.
In this course, students explore fundamental aspects of entrepreneurship and business management, including:
• Business Ideas & Developing Business Plans
• How to launch and operate a business
• Sales strategy and execution
• Marketing fundamentals and partnership with local businesses
• Hands-on creation of marketing materials using direct-to-print equipment.
• Business financials and performance measurement
• Personal finance concepts such as banking, budgeting, credit, saving, and investing
• Business finance principles, including cash flow, profit, and financial planning
• Career readiness skills, including resume writing, cover letters, interview techniques, professional communication, and workplace expectations.
• Hands on learning through marketing campaigns and collaboration with local businesses
• Entrepreneurship experiences through competitions such as SkillsUSA, Titan Challenge and our very own Shark Tank Competition.

• Entrepreneurship & Small Business Certification (Certiport)
• Business Professionals of America (BPA) Certifications
• Google Digital Garage – certification in fundamentals of digital marketing (covers SEO, social media, analytics)
