NON - DISCRIMINATION STATEMENT



Mid-Maine Technical Center does not discriminate in its education and employment programs on the basis of religion; age; race; color; national origin; gender; marital or parental status; disability; and complies with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX Education Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and the American’s with Disabilities Act of 1990. HARASSMENT STATEMENT


Mid-Maine Technical Center recognizes the right of each employee and student to work and study in an atmosphere that is free of intimidation, hostility, and offensiveness. The school strongly promotes a work and study environment free of harassment. Mid-Maine Technical Center expects all employees, students, and other members of the school community to conduct themselves in an appropriate and professional manner, by demonstrating concern and respect for colleagues and students.

Examples of harassment include: unwelcome physical contact, verbal comments, sexual advances, gestures, threats, offensive jokes, ridicule, and slurs, etc. Conduct of this nature is not only a violation of school policy, but constitutes illegal behavior under state and federal law. If a student suspects at any time that he/she is a victim of harassment, he/she should seek help by notifying a teacher, counselor, or administrator.
